That's not good! Like I said, if this ignitor doesn't fix my no spark problem I am stuck.
Why are there different part #'s and a $100 difference then?

I couldnt' tell ya. I just know that I have used one out of an older vtec civic on a friend of mine's gsr. He has had no problems with it. If you have a friend with a sohc moter, try to borrow his for a shot to see. If so then save your self some $$$ and buy one. It's just a suggestion not a complete solution. It's worked for me, why not you.

Well, I got the spendy ignitor and another coil and it is still dead so this morning I had it put on a flatbead and towed to the dealer where Randomwalk hooked me up with a good mechanic. Thanks John!
We'll see what happens now.

No problem Bill. I'm glad you got your car up and running. I'm still waiting for my replacement ecu to come in. This time it'll be anti-static gloves and the whole nine yard

Well, John's (Randomwalk101) hookup paid off big time! I told Randy (the mechanic at Charlie Thomas Acura John suggested) about what had happened and what I had checked and within an hour he was able to determine that my timing belt tensioner had come loose! This caused the exhaust cam to become out of time and since the distributor is driven by this cam, the spark was happening at the totally wrong time. After fixing that there was still no spark which he determined to be the coil, which I had tried replacing the night before but it didn't help since the exhaust cam was 180' off! Once that was fixed, it still ran like crap so at first he thought I had bent some valves when the timing belt went but then realized that I had swapped the TPS and MAP sensor harnesses! After that was done it ran like a charm! How he was able to determine all three of these unrelated problems in such a short period of time I have no idea other than he really knows his stuff!
